![]() The only reason I’ve jumped ship to Roon is because approx a year ago there was an Audirvana update that somehow totally screwed my music library up, creating duplicates & splitting albums into 2 or more parts. Roon is very pricey compared to Audirvana, but for me it works so well there was no going back. Agree that it (at least within the context of my system) sounded better than Amarra or Pure Music. It allows for multi-room, multi-system control which I dont really need, so it is a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a walnut. It really is an excellent, well thought out offering with superb EQ facilities, the Roon live radio, it sounds excellent & is rock solid stable. Its easy to rename files from their metadata (artist, album, song number, etc). In my opinion, Roon is like a much better, more polished & slick version of Audirvana. While playing a tune on the Sony, I tried deleting a couple unrelated duplicate files (not a duplicate of the tune that was playing). My Mac mini acts as a Roon endpoint so it was very easy to set up & my library was correctly restored. If it is JRiver, I will have to use HEOS to play Tidal on Marantz. Arq Backup: Dropbox is for my everyday files backup and sharing, Carbon Copy. If I go with Audirvana, I have an advantage of integrating Tidal, and use the same app to stream Tidal. It allows me to be operational on a new mac given only my external USB hard drive. Single instance storage SIS scans gree volumes for duplicate files, standaard moves the duplicate files to the common SIS store. ![]() ![]() I say “pretty stable” only because there was a fairly big update a year or so ago & for reasons I never understood, it completely screwed up my library, splitting it into duplicate albums with only 3 or 4 tracks on each album.Īfter trying to resolve this, reverting to an earlier version etc without success, I trialled Roon. Marantz will use its DAC to decode digital input on HDMI and I will get hi-fi audio quality. There’s also a reasonable data base/user forum on the computeraudiophile site.Īudirvana allows you to search & select Music, has “plug-ins” for EQ, decent graphics & the program is usually pretty stable. I used Audirvana to manage & access music for a good few years. ![]() I have my music on a Mac mini HD ( maybe about 1000 cd’s) & I use Tidal. ![]()
